Good for dogs with special needs revolving their mouth,
I have a little Chinese Crested that spent the first 3 years of her life in a puppy mill. They broke her jaw there and never got it fixed. I’m working with my vet now to decide if the pros outweigh the cons when it comes to fixing it for her. That’s a whole other story but it gives you a little background on her.
Her upper teeth and her lower teeth don’t touch at all, her jaw is crooked from it. She can’t eat regular dry dog food, it has to be wet down with a stew type food so that she can pick it up with her tongue to move it to the back of her mouth to chew it.
She has trouble playing with toys because of this. (Besides the fact that she probably had never seen a toy until she was rescued by her foster mom and then when we adopted her.) Her favorite toys seem to be things she can smoosh flat and carry around easily, that don’t require her to open her jaw much.
I picked this up at a pet store and she immediately started playing with it. It actually brought tears to my eyes to see her so excited about it. It’s favorite toy, ranking higher than a cardboard toilet paper tube and a sock. (What do you do? It’s what she likes.) The squeaker in the head is broken now, but it’s not from her, it’s from my 4 kids so I didn’t drop the stars at all. It’s been awesome for her. It still looks brand new, but that’s probably because she can’t sit and chew on it like a dog with a normal jaw would. She just tears around the house with the fox, flipping it around, running back after it. It’s neat to watch. I just ordered her the skunk and the squirrel off of Amazon and I can’t wait to get them for her. I want to get her all of them just because it feels so good watching her play like a dog should finally.

|Fun Toy But…,
My dog loved this toy and played with it immediately. Within a week, however, he was able to bite through and the tail is just about off! Too bad! My dog is only 16 pounds, not a large dog, but yet this toy isn’t as tough as I thought it would be from the advertisement. Time for a new one and I would buy it again. Guess nothing lasts forever, since it has withstood some rough treatment.

|dogs LOVE this toy but be warned, not for rippers.,
i bought this toy for my husky. as far as plush toys go, this lasted the longest of the plushies i’ve given her (about 4 weeks before she finally gutted it). she did however bite the ears of the thing clean off within a day, but the toy itself stayed in tact for quite some time. i do recommend this toy for gnawers, but not for rippers, as ripping is how she ended up destroying it in the end. i would also like to note that my husky LOVED this toy more than she loved treats.
